Louis Erickson
Once my fall semester is complete at the University of Vermont where I am a scholar in Environmental Studies. I pack my car and head west to the gnarliest mountains in the lower 48, the Tetons. My passion for skiing is based on my father’s sacrifice when I was a child to bring me to the mountain every weekend and on weeknights to train. Growing up skiing and racing competitively on the east coast, I learned how to ski in all conditions and love it without question. This passion for skiing led me westward where I spend every winter in search deep powder and rowdy lines.
I strive to push the limits as to what is possible on skis within high alpine environments. I enjoy pushing myself, and ski mountaineering as a sport. I also want to pass down my knowledge and experiences to future generations through the Teton Valley Ski Education Foundation and the Flyin Ryan Ambassador program. I have been working closely with these organizations to ensure the highest quality ski education and mountain safety available. I strive to teach the next generation about the love and adventure of skiing through race and all-mountain training and backcountry safety techniques.
