Kristin Fioretti
Yorktown Heights, New York
My name is Kristin Fioretti-Reterski and I am a graduate student at the University of Virginia studying public policy. I graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. My time at UVM taught me the importance of adventure and going where I never thought possible; from being the first person in my family to graduate college to traveling abroad for the first time. My passion is to never stop exploring, and since leaving UVM I have served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua, lived and worked in New York City, and traveled the world. In July, I will be studying to become a certified yoga-therapy based teacher at Tavoos Garden in Siem Reap, Cambodia. This trip combines everything that I love about yoga, devotion, and challenging myself through self-discipline and awareness.
My Core Values
- Never forget where you come from
- Conquer one fear every day
- Cultivate empathy and generosity
- Live humbly and passionately
- Embrace the many experiences that brought you to where you are today
- Don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself
- Fail well, fail often and get back up
- Believe in hope and work to inspire it in others
- Fight to love yourself in your darkest moments
