Francisco’s Bio

My name is Francisco Damato. I am 14 years old and live in Derby Line, VT. I began snowboarding in 2020, at 10 years old, during the pandemic. At that time I was able to go to the mountain 2-3 times a week which helped me to quickly progress and gain skill. Since then, I have been fixated on my progression in this sport. For the last two winters, I have been shredding with the Jay Peak Free Ski and Ride Team, where coaches help me improve my technique, line, and style. In the summer, I enjoy soccer, track, baseball, and mountain biking. I think snowboarding is a great way to connect with friends, meet new people, and get outside. I plan to use the grant for entry fees and trip expenses with the IFSA competitions. This is my first year competing and I am excited about this experience.
