Sadie and Zach Haskell are a brother and sister who each received their own individual Adventure Scholarship awards in November 2022. Their mother shared with us an update on how they’re doing since receiving their awards!
I wanted to share with you some images and updates on Sadie and Zach Haskell.
Sadie had a fabulous year coming back from injury. She had some top five finishes but more importantly, she learned how to inspect a line, ski it, and execute a trick. All huge accomplishments. Although she did not get an invite to Norams (she was close), Sadie did use her money to buy a ticket out there and will be skiing Kicking Horse next week and cheering on her friends. She is already looking to next year and planning her off season conditioning program!
Zach had a huge learning experience this year. He had goals to inspect and ski the line he wanted which he did and pulled off some tricks as well. He focused a lot of his energy on solid turns and accomplished his goals for technique. He too bought his own ticket to Kicking Horse and will be competing in the 12-14 age group next week. Unfortunately, he hurt himself a tad while skiing the backcountry last week. We will support him as he tries to ski his line in the comp.
Thank you for all you do for young athletes and the role model Ryan continues to provide these young skiers!
All the best,
Kathy Haskell
