Noah, Dylan and Connor Ladd applied for an Adventure Scholarship back in 2016. These three brothers from Lakewood, Colorado were between 12 and 16 years old. These Freeride enthusiasts each started skiing around the age of 3 and embodied the adventurous spirit of Ryan Hawks. In their words:
“Many people describe us as smart, nice, creative and humble kids. All three of us love to be competitive, but also support and encourage each other, as well as other athletes, and just have fun together. We feel that we embody Ryan’s spirit in our skiing and in our everyday lives. Winter is our favorite season. We enjoy everything about skiing, from powder, trees and steeps, to park and pipe. All three of us think the feeling of flight is one of the best feelings in the world.“
Three years later Connor and Dylan Ladd have reached out to us to share an update on what they’ve been up to since receiving their awards:
The Ladd Boys had a good season last year. Connor and Dylan both competed in World Cup and Grand Prix events. Connor made the U.S. rookie team last year,
so now both Dylan and Connor are on the team. Connor won Jr. World Championships and Dylan won the NorAm Cup and the Rev Tour Overall. Connor and Dylan are headed to Austria for training next week and Connor will be competing in the Youth Olympics later this year. Dylan was just over the age limit, but he will be competing in plenty of other competitions this year. Unfortunately, Noah was hurt this last season and can’t ski this season as well. Below are some videos of Dylan and Connor competing in the halfpipe event.
