Candice’s Bio

I’m a Houston native, Army veteran, and elite adaptive archer driven by faith, resilience, and purpose. After a service related accident in Germany left me with a traumatic brain injury and a spinal cord injury, I was told I would never walk again. I defied those expectations by completing 24 marathons, including four Boston Marathon finishes, and 100 half marathons across all 50 states and Washington D C. I later transitioned into triathlon before discovering archery during the COVID pandemic, where I found a new competitive passion. I am now the No. 1 ranked U.S. para archer and a 2023 Pan American Games medalist, earning bronze in the individual event and gold in the team event, along with multiple international medals. I am focused on qualifying for and winning gold at the 2028 Paralympic Games. I use my journey to inspire others to overcome adversity and reach their potential.
