Danielle’s Bio
Hey there! My name is Danielle Cummings, and I am an all-around mountain girl. From an early age, I fell in love with the humility and challenge the mountains provided. My favorite things in life are the first run on a powder day and the feeling of achievement I get from pushing my body to its limit while competing. In July ’23, I became a below knee amputee after a 6.5 yr battle with chronic pain. My first year as an amputee started with me relearning how to walk and culminated with me racing at USA Paratriathlon Nationals. I am now starting to race internationally with the goal of qualifying and being selected for the LA28 Paralympic Triathlon Team! I am also in my third year of medical school with the goal of working in Emergency and Wilderness Medicine.
My Core Values
- Glorify God in all that I do
- Excellence over perfection
- Find joy in the little things
- Be comfortable in the unknown
- Never lose my childlike silliness
- Do things that scare me
- 5 min outside can do more than you know
- Smile and laughter are contagious
- Be a champion of others
- Honesty
