Dear Friends,

Fifteen years ago today Ryan succumbed to injuries he sustained while participating in a freeride world tour competition in Kirkwood, California. He stomped a 40-foot backflip but unfortunately landed dead center on a submerged rock. It should’ve been a deflection, but all the force of the landing went straight up through his body.

That day we lost his body but his spirit continues to be a current event.  The Flyin Ryan Hawks Foundation was established to extend the impact of his life by sharing his core values and stimulating adventurers, students, and athletes to take responsibility for their decisions and future behavior by composing and using core values as a Northstar and foundation for all the choices they make in life.

In life we have to coexist with noise imposed by numerous expectations of others as well and is events over which we have no control. This creates a sense of hopelessness which is deeply ingrained and far more devastating here in America and around the world. It is a pandemic with greater implications than Covid.

The Flyin Ryan Hawks Foundation offers The Core Values Challenge as a solution to this issue. Using Ryan and his 13 core values as an example, we ask people to tap into their core spirit and take responsibility for their attitude and future behavior by taking the core values challenge and using those values as a Northstar or compass when making decisions. Decision is a choice. Your life is nothing more than the sum of the choices that you make. It is incredibly important to know, when you’re making choices just to it is who is making those choices. To take the core values challenge all you need to do is go to http://www.flyinryanhawks.org/core-values-challenge

The Flyin Ryan Hawks Foundation is financially sound, has a stable and gifted Board of Directors, and has made over 200 Adventure Scholarship awards over the last 15 years. We have around 25 community partners who provide financial assistance and mission outreach. In addition, we have a very loyal community of individual donors.

Please do yourself a favor and take the Core Values Challenge or consider making a contribution to support the work we do.

Onward and upward,
Peter Hawks
