Adventure Scholarship recipient Parker Metcalfe received his award in May of this year and was using it to explore Northern U.S. and Canada by driving, hiking and camping. He has shared the following update and photos with us!

I have done my planned adventure. The EFRP work fell through, my family gave up and left it because it was 6 months behind schedule. I foresaw that the EFRP wouldn’t do anything around month 3.5. Thus, I packed my things, bought a better sleeping bag and panniers for my motorcycle and, did the motorcycle trip to Alaska that I talked about in my scholarship application!

It was AMAZING!!! I want to do it again! It is an amazing experience, and I highly recommend that anyone who wants to do it, to give it a shot! It took me a month and 4 days to ride to Alaska and back. Heading back, I was just at the edge of the fall colors in Alaska, absolutely gorgeous! Either the mosquitoes are embellished or, I missed the bad ones. I did not encounter any pockets of mosquitoes that required more than bug spray and a head net.
