Molly received her award back in 2019 to assist her in the goal of traveling and skiing some Ja-Pow. She joined with some new friends along the journey. Here is what she had to say about her trip:
I have spent the last two years raising and saving money in order to join SASS Global travel on a ski trip to Japan. While I was raising this money and preparing for my trip I was really focused on skiing. All I could think about was the insane powder days I was about to have. The thought of the people I would meet and friendships I would make never really crossed my mind in all my planning, yet was the reason my trip exceeded all my expectations. I met amazing people that I would now consider to be my best friends. I was nervous going into
the trip about being in such a foreign environment as I had never left the United States prior to the trip. I was surrounded by a whole new culture and there’s no denying the fact it was intimidating. However having my new friends by side we were able to insert ourselves into this new culture and fully embrace this new experience. We spent every day in Japan waking up early and heading to the hills for amazing skiing while we spent our nights exploring local towns and immersing ourselves into the Japanese culture. We skied at both Kiroro and Rusutsu resorts with amazing guides that took us around each mountain finding the best terrain. We all watched and supported each other as we pushed ourselves to try skiing new terrain and tricks. It was the most motivating and inspiring group of people I have ever skied with. My trip to Japan has made me a more confident skier as I was able to push myself in the terrain in ways I never have before. Since the trip I have only grown as a skier and learned to value the people I surround myself with while in the mountains.
