Tucker Slashing the Spine – Portillo, Chile

Tucker Vollbrecht is an aspiring professional big mountain telemark free-skier. His passion for telemark skiing started early, getting on tele-gear at age nine and staying exclusively in telemark ever since. He started competing during the 2011-2012 ski season, finishing in the prizes in his first competition, and winning the peer-judged competition at the 2012 Big Mountain Telemark Camp in Portillo, Chile. Tucker has developed a reputation for his smooth style and stomped landings.

Note from Peter Hawks: “Telemark” Tucker exudes the passion and committment we are looking for. He was invited to attend a Telemark camp run by Nick Devore in Chile during the summer of 2012. He buckled down and started raising funds to make it happen. We were happy to contribute to that effort. In Tucker’s application he took great pains to cite each of Ryan’s Core Values and what it means to him. Tucker went to Chile and had the bonus of being exposed to another culture in addition to picking up additional skills to apply to his craft.
