Flyin Ryan is proud to announce the addition of three new Adventure Scholarship recipients to their Adventure Scholar family!

Eli Derrick

Eli Derrick is a skicross racer who moves all the way from Virginia to Maine every winter to pursue his love of competing on the FIS / NorAm circuit.  A dedicated competitor, Eli takes classes at Carrabassett Valley Academy at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain and trains 5-6 days a week on the hill or in the gym, before and after classes. His goal is to represent the US as the only skicross athlete in the 2020 Lausanne Youth Olympics and to be standing on the podium in Switzerland in January. Eli is using his award toward competitions.

Stuart Whittier

Stuart Whittier is a skicross racer from Cape Elizabeth, Maine currently racing for Carrabassett Valley Academy located at Sugarloaf Mountain. He competes on the FIS / Noram Circuit. When not skiing Stuart attends Maine Coast Waldorf High School in Freeport, Maine where he plays ultimate frisbee and runs cross country. Stuart credits his father with first putting him in skis when he was 2 years old and supporting him in his passion ever since. Stuart is using his award to help maintain his rigorous competition schedule.
