Alanso Darias
Sudbury, MA
My name is Alonso Dairas and skiing is my passion. My mountain is Mad River Glen, and I have been skiing there since I was two years old. My dad is the one who taught me how to ski and he brought me to the level that I needed to be at to join the Mad River Glen Freeskiing Team four years ago. I’m fourteen now, and skiing is more important to me than ever before. I love being able to have fun with my friends and push each other to do things we would have never been able to do alone, and when that happens the feeling is exhilarating!”
Update from Alonso 1/26/15: So stoked to be part of the Flyin Ryan community, and even more stoked after a great weekend of skiing during the MLK Weekend. I got to compete for my place in the adult Ski The East Freeride Tour at Jay Peak on sunday. I got 5th and qualified for the adult tour setting me up for competitions for the rest of the season. Then on Monday I had a great day of skiing really nice snow even if it was cut short by a power outage at the mountain. I got to ski with professional photographer Jeb Wallace-Brodeur who got some great pictures of skiing some nice creamy snow. Overall I had a great weekend and am super excited to keep skiing the rest of the year.
