Murphy’s Bio
Murphy is a sixteen-year-old competitive freeskier from Manchester, Vermont. Raised in the mountains, he has been skiing since childhood and made his competitive debut this past season, earning top national rankings in his first year. Off the competition course, Murphy co-founded the freeski club at Burr and Burton Academy to create a pathway for other students into the sport. He is a multi-sport athlete who also competes in downhill mountain biking and soccer, and spends his free time hiking and adventuring outdoors with his family and their two Vizsla dogs, Cooper and Maple. Murphy’s goals for the coming season include attending summer training camps to learn inverts, continuing to progress in national-level competition, and growing the freeski community at his school and home mountain.
